WHAT ARE TEAM FORMATION EVALUATIONS?
Team Formation Evaluations are for anyone looking to join the gold team for their respective age groups. The gold teams play in a higher division in the league and can be more competitive in nature.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T ATTEND AN EVALUATION?
If you do not attend an evaluation, this doesn't mean that you will not be able to play during the fall season. This just means that you will be placed on a team that may be less competitive.
Attending an evaluation is a free opportunity to be assessed and placed on a team that will give your child an opportunity to develop.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER EVALUATIONS?
After the evaluations, parents should expect to receive communication outlining what team best suits their child (gold, black, etc). This communication is sent out within a week of the evaluation date.
WHEN ARE TEAMS FORMED?
Final team rosters will be decided in late June/early July as team registrations are submitted.
You then may ask, WHY HOLD TEAM EVALUATIONS SO EARLY?
The reason for this is that Nebraska State Soccer Association has released these dates as the beginning of the team formation period for each respective age group. We set our evaluations based on these dates so that young athletes are able to attend our evaluations and understand where they will be placed. Typically, other clubs hold "try-outs" during these same dates and have teams formed within a week. Holding team evaluations during the same time as the clubs around us, allows players to make decisions in regard to what club opportunity is best for them.
At the end of the day, evaluations are another opportunity for getting soccer instruction and more touches on the ball!
